A Cure for a Case of the Mondays

I simply love how photography has the ability to capture God's creativity and sense of humor.  Here are a couple of examples:

A "Cure" for a Case of the Mondays

Here. Read the worst poem I have ever laid eyes upon:

Death!
Plop.
The barges down in the river flop.
Flop, plop.
Above, beneath.
From the slimy branches the grey drips drop,
As they scraggle black on the thin grey sky,
Where the black cloud rack-hackles drizzle and fly
To the oozy waters, that lounge and flop
On the black scrag piles, where the loose cords plop,
As the raw wind whines in the thin tree-top.
Plop, plop.
And scudding by
The boatmen call out hoy! and hey!
All is running water and sky,
And my head shrieks -- "Stop,"
And my heart Shrieks -- "Die"

My thought is running out of my head;
My love is running out of my heart,
My soul runs after, and leaves me as dead,
For my life runs after to catch them -- and fled
They all are every one! -- and I stand, and start,
At the water that oozes up, plop and plop,
On the barges that flop
                              And dizzy me dead.
I might reel and drop.
                                                Plop.
                                                Dead.
And the shrill wind whines in the thin tree-top
                           Flop, plop.

A curse on him.
                            Ugh! yet I knew -- I knew --
If a woman is false can a friend be true?
It was only a lie from beginning to end --
My Devil -- My "Friend"
I had trusted the whole of my living to!
Ugh; and I knew!
Ugh!
So what do I care,
And my head is empty as air --
I can do,
I can dare,
(Plop, plop
The barges flop
Drip drop.)
I can dare! I can dare!
And let myself all run away with my head
And stop.
Drop.
Dead.
Plop, flop.
                                              Plop.

Cure for a Case of the Mondays

This came up on StumbleUpon and I got a huge kick out of it. It was a snippet of a text conversation:

Person 1: "Dude, that party was wicked."
Person 2: "You were drunk outta your mind."
Person 1: "I was not drunk!"
Person 2: "Dude! You were cutting pineapples yelling SPONGEBOB I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE."

Case of the Mondays: Hockey Edition

In honor of this weekend's trip to cheer on a team in a sport where concussions are passed around like candy...

Today's "Cure for a Case of the Mondays" is brought to you by Mr. Brian Regan, and has been inspired by a recent and much-needed acquisition.

Kids React

One of the best television shows in history was "Kids Say the Darndest Things."  (This is not an opinion).  A few months ago, my husband and I came across a weekly youtube video series called "Kids React."  I love how it captures kids' true personalities and quirks.  Here's an example of one of our favorite episodes:

Regarding Life, the Universe, and Everything

We are reading through Douglas Adams' five-book "trilogy," and to hopefully give a little lift to your day, I thought I would share a couple of quotes that tickled my fancy.

From "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:"

"In those days, spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women, and small, furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small, furry creatures from Alpha Centauri."

"But the plans were on display."
"On display? I had to go down to the cellar to find them!"
"That's the display department."
"With a torch."
"Ah, well the lights had probably gone."
"So had the stairs."
"But look, you found the notice, didn't you?"
"Yes," said Arthur, "Yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying Beware of the Leopard."

From "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe:"

"Look," said Zaphod, "I'm up to here with cool, okay? I'm so amazingly cool, you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. I am so hip, I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis."

"You are so unhip, it's a wonder your bum doesn't fall off."

"Well, you're obviously being totally naive," said the girl. "When you've been in marketing as long as I have, you know that before any new product can be developed, it has to be properly researched. We've got to find out what people want from fire, how they relate to it, what sort of image it has for them." "Stick it up your nose," Ford said. "Which is precisely the sort of thing we need to know, insisted the girl. "Do people want fire that can be fitted nasally?"

"The ship was rocking and swaying sickeningly as Ford and Zaphod tried to wrestle control from the autopilot. The engine howled and whined like tired children in a supermarket."

A Cure for A Case of the Mondays

I am convinced that the rampant, irresponsible use of Autotune is proof that the tribulation is, in fact, eminent.

In rare cases, however, I do wholeheartedly support it's use-- basically when Autotune is used for any purpose that it was not originally intended for. "Autotune the News" is one such example. Here is another:
